Privacy Notice

under the kvkk and the gdpr

This English text is provided for convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the Turkish version prevails and is legally binding.

In accordance with Article 10 of the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (“KVKK”), the following information is provided to you by the data controller. Additional information under the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) for users accessing from the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom is set out in Section 8.

1. Data Controller

This website (“The Return Code”) is operated for personal and artistic purposes by Valeri Hemsi, a natural person acting as data controller.

Contact: valerihemsi@gmail.com

2. Personal Data Processed

In order to generate a personal awareness reading, the following data are processed only when you initiate the relevant step, and solely within the scope of your request:

  • First and last name
  • Mother's name
  • Date, time, and place of birth
  • Your answers to the self-observation questionnaire (10 questions)
  • Messages you write in the companion chat panel
  • Your interface language preference (stored only on your device)

You enter all of this data yourself, with your own consent. The site does not obtain, verify, or enrich this information from any other source. Please do not enter special categories of personal data, such as health data, into the questionnaire or the chat; the service is not designed for processing such data.

3. Purpose of Processing

The data in question are processed solely for the following purposes:

  • To generate a personalized self-reflection and awareness readingbased on symbolic-numerical signatures derived from your birth information (elemental balance, planetary correspondences, numerical path), inspired by Jung's concept of the shadow, metacognition, and cognitive-behavioural approaches
  • To build, depending on the focus you choose, an inner journey map, a shadow-work section, or daily observation practices
  • To answer your questions in the companion chat panel, within the context of the generated reading

The generated content is not a psychological diagnosis, therapy, or medical assessment; it is solely an awareness tool intended for self-reflection. The data are in no way used for marketing, advertising, sale to third parties, statistics, or producing decisions that affect you.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Pursuant to Article 5/1 of the KVKK, your data are processed solely on the legal basis of your explicit consent. The consent checkbox you tick before submitting the form constitutes the record of this explicit consent. For EEA/UK users, the legal basis for processing is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR.

5. Retention Period

The site does not store your personal data in any database, file, or persistent storage. The data are held in server memory only for the seconds during which the reading-generation request is processed, and are automatically deleted once the request is completed.

The information you enter in the form, the generated reading and the modules (shadow work, roadmap, daily observation) are kept solely in your device's persistent local storage (localStorage), so that your reading reopens without being regenerated when you return. You can permanently delete these data at any time via the “delete my data from this device”link on the “Choose Your Path” screen, or by clearing your browser/app data. Your language preference is kept in the same local storage. At no stage are these data permanently transmitted to The Return Code server.

6. Recipients — International Data Transfer

To generate the reading text, the Claude large language model of Anthropic, PBC(headquartered in the United States of America) is used as an artificial intelligence service. The data you enter are transmitted to this company's servers at the time of the reading request.

This transfer constitutes an international data transfer within the scope of Article 9 of the KVKK. The transfer is approved through the explicit-consent checkbox you tick before submitting the form. For EEA/UK users, this transfer is based on your explicit consent given after being informed of the possible risks of such transfer, pursuant to Article 49(1)(a) of the GDPR. Under its own privacy policy, Anthropic may retain the data for up to 30 days for security and abuse monitoring purposes, after which it deletes them automatically. By default, Anthropic does not use customer data received via its API for model training.

The site's hosting infrastructure is provided by Vercel Inc. (USA). Vercel keeps technical logs such as IP address, browser information, and access time in its server access records; however, form contents are not included in these logs.

7. Rights of the Data Subject (Article 11 of the KVKK)

Under Article 11 of the KVKK, every data subject has the following rights:

  • To learn whether their personal data are being processed
  • If processed, to request information regarding such processing
  • To learn the purpose of processing and whether the data are used in accordance with that purpose
  • To know the third parties to whom the data are transferred, whether domestically or abroad
  • To request correction of data that are incomplete or inaccurately processed
  • To request erasure or destruction of the data under the conditions set out in the KVKK
  • To object to a result arising against them through analysis of the processed data exclusively by automated systems
  • To claim compensation for damages suffered due to unlawful processing

You may submit these requests in writing to valerihemsi@gmail.com. Since our servers do not store data, erasure/access requests will mostly be answered with a “no data stored” outcome; the data kept on your own device can be deleted instantly by you via the delete link on the “Choose Your Path” screen.

8. Users in the EEA / United Kingdom (GDPR)

If you are accessing from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, in addition to the above you have the following rights under the GDPR:

  • Right of access to your data (Article 15)
  • Right to rectification (Article 16)
  • Right to erasure — “right to be forgotten” (Article 17)
  • Right to restriction of processing (Article 18)
  • Right to data portability (Article 20)
  • Right to object (Article 21)
  • Right to withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal (Article 7(3))
  • Right to lodge a complaint with the data protection supervisory authority in your country (Article 77)

Automated decision-making (Article 22): The readings are generated automatically by artificial intelligence; however, they do not produce any decision that has legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affects you. The content is informational only, intended for self-reflection.

Data minimisation: The service operates with the minimum data necessary for its purpose; no account is created, no e-mail address is collected, and no user profile is kept.

9. Cookies and Local Storage

The site does not usecookies for user tracking or analytics. Only your device's local storage (localStorage) is used: (1) keys prefixed “venera-” so that the information you enter, the generated reading and the modules reopen when you return; (2) the key “rtc-dil” to remember your language preference. All of it lives solely on your device, is not shared with third parties, serves no tracking purpose, and can be deleted instantly via the “delete my data from this device” link.

10. Withdrawal of Explicit Consent

You may withdraw the explicit consent you have given at any time. Withdrawal takes effect prospectively. Since the site does not store data, your withdrawal in practice means refraining from generating new readings; the site has no control over texts generated in the past that remain on your own device.

11. Changes

The version of this notice currently in force is always published on this page. In the event of significant changes, an update date is added at the top of the text.
